I have a friend I was wondering about, why do I enjoy hanging around him? And I realized it’s because he’s curious. We both are, want to know more about everything. And we’re curious about a lot of the same topics, so that helps, allows us to go deeper.
It means “eager to know” or “strange, weird, unusual”. I had a friend from Germany once ask me what the American word “weird” meant. It took me a minute, but came up with “someone who’s different.” He asked “Is it bad or good?” (soo German) (I’m ~.400 German and wear it proudly). Going deeper gives you rewards — we’ve learned so much about each others’ younger lives; it’s an intense wonderful study”.
We built the friendship based on barely knowing each other, built it to breakfast every Sunday morning for a couple years, outside at Johnnie’s at 40 degrees cuz we didn’t want to get Covid. We shouldn’t forget those years when we did crazy things to avoid Covid. These frequent breakfasts bonded the friendship somewhat I think, so much quality time together. They sustain us now as we meet sporadically, every month or two, but it’s exactly the same when we get together.
